Golan Rice, a former senior state security official, has co-founded a new 111-kilometer pilgrimage route from Jaffa Port to Jerusalem, inspired by his transformative experiences on the Camino de Santiago. The route, divided into six sections, invites travelers of all backgrounds to journey through urban centers and scenic hills, engaging with local communities and collecting stamps at various points of interest. Together with Yael Tarasiuk Nevo, Rice has worked to create a path that fosters personal reflection and interfaith dialogue, drawing on historical pilgrimage traditions and local stories. The project is currently self-funded, with guided tours available and plans for further expansion and sustainability through community involvement.
