Israel is launching a new cross-government research platform, operated by MDClone, to enable ministries to analyze each other's data without compromising personal privacy. The initiative, known as the Network for the Advancement of Data Science, will connect previously isolated datasets from health, welfare, education, taxation, and infrastructure through a secure environment using synthetic, de-identified data.
Officials emphasize that the platform will allow researchers to address complex national issues while maintaining strict privacy and security standards. The project stems from a partnership between key government leaders and aims to remove barriers to responsible data sharing. Leaders say the platform will revolutionize how public services are improved by fostering coordinated, evidence-based policymaking across ministries.
The focus now shifts to implementation and measuring the impact on research outcomes, with success determined by the platform's ability to enhance collaboration and decision-making while safeguarding citizens' privacy.
