American economist Jeffrey Sachs has warned that Iran should be cautious of what he describes as a covert strategic agenda pursued by the United States. He alleges that the Central Intelligence Agency operates through deception and interference, advancing foreign interventions and destabilisation campaigns under the banner of national security.
Sachs contends that such tactics, historically linked to regime change efforts in various countries, are also being directed toward Tehran. He argues that Washington’s policies toward Iran conceal broader geopolitical objectives beyond publicly stated security concerns.
He also criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of attempting to draw the United States into a wider conflict with Iran. According to Sachs, this push is aimed at weakening regional groups aligned against Israel, raising the risk of broader regional instability.
