Channel 13 aired previously unseen footage from 2022 showing senior Hamas figures conducting planning sessions and war games ahead of the October 7, 2023 attack. The video reportedly features Izz al-Din al-Haddad, who currently leads Hamas in Gaza, seated with other members in what is described as a 'war room' coordinating a simulated assault.
The footage is intercut with scenes of a test sea invasion at Zikim Beach, where participants are seen praising the exercise and expressing hope that a future operation would secure the release of prisoners. Members of the elite Nukhba Force are shown communicating with operatives in the field, discussing battlefield damage, casualties, and the level of confusion among Israeli forces during the drill.
According to the report, the video was recorded about a year before the October 7 attack, during the tenure of then Israeli leaders Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid. The source of the footage was not disclosed. The broadcast follows earlier releases of propaganda videos showing Hamas rehearsing attacks on mock border installations and simulated targets shortly before the assault.
