Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin questioned how the slur was not removed despite what they described as sufficient time to edit the program before it aired. They contrasted the decision with the removal of a filmmaker’s comments expressing support for 'Free Palestine,' arguing that the differing treatment suggested a troubling inconsistency.

The British Broadcasting Corporation said the political remarks were cut for timing reasons and noted that other speeches were also shortened.
