Iran is preparing to propose lowering its uranium enrichment level from sixty percent to below four percent and suspending enrichment activities for seven years during upcoming negotiations in Geneva. However, the United States administration is reportedly seeking a significantly longer suspension period, setting up a central point of contention between the two sides.
Another major dispute concerns Iran’s existing stockpile of enriched uranium. Tehran is refusing to transfer the hundreds of kilograms it currently possesses خارج the country, while Washington insists that the material must be removed as part of any agreement. In addition, the United States is demanding that any future nuclear deal have no expiration date, with core restrictions remaining in force indefinitely.
Speaking ahead of the next round of talks, President Donald Trump said previous strikes had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program but warned that Tehran is attempting to rebuild it and is developing long range missiles. He stated that while he prefers a diplomatic solution, he will never allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon and emphasized that the United States is prepared to act if necessary.
