Thirty five runners required medical treatment during the Tel Aviv Marathon, with five suffering serious heatstroke. The remaining injured participants were reported to be in moderate to mild condition, according to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
The race, launched by Mayor Ron Huldai, is the largest marathon ever held in Israel, drawing more than 50,000 participants across all categories. More than 3,000 runners competed in the full 42.2 kilometer marathon, while over 12,000 joined the half marathon and more than 20,000 took part in the 10 kilometer race, both setting new participation records.
For the first time in more than two years, and despite the ongoing war, 15 elite international runners participated in the event, including athletes from Kenya and Ethiopia.
