President Donald Trump said the United States and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury as what he called their last and best chance to eliminate threats posed by Iran. The joint military campaign, which began Saturday, has targeted Iranian military sites, ballistic missile facilities, and naval assets. Trump stated that ten Iranian ships have been sunk and dozens of senior leaders killed, including the country’s supreme leader.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the operation’s objectives are to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities, dismantle its navy, and prevent it from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon. He also said the campaign aims to stop Iran from funding and directing armed groups beyond its borders. The Pentagon confirmed the use of stealth bombers armed with two thousand pound bombs in the strikes.

Trump warned that any severe retaliation by Iran would be met with unprecedented force. He praised American service members involved in the operation and honored four who were killed in action, vowing that the mission would continue with what he described as ferocious and unyielding resolve. He expressed confidence that the United States military would prevail and said the campaign could extend for weeks if necessary.
