United States President Donald Trump criticized the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran that was negotiated under former President Barack Obama, arguing that his decision to withdraw from the deal prevented Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the agreement as the most dangerous transaction the United States had ever entered into and claimed that, had it remained in place, Iran would have obtained a nuclear weapon three years ago. He asserted that the global situation would look very different today if the deal had continued.
Trump also blamed former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden for supporting the agreement, reiterating his long-standing opposition to the deal and defending his decision to terminate it during his first term in office.
