Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar urged countries around the world to sever diplomatic ties with Iran during a virtual briefing with around 60 ambassadors stationed in Israel. He argued that following what he described as Iran's attacks on neighboring states and repression of its own people, the international community must cut off relations with Tehran.
Sa'ar said Israel would not accept living under what he called a threat of elimination, adding that no country would tolerate such a danger. He also pointed to recent attacks by Hezbollah against Israel as evidence that the group acts in the service of Iran and against the interests of Lebanon.
In addition, Sa'ar cited Iranian attacks on Gulf states as further proof that Iran poses a threat to the wider region. Separately, Germany summoned the Iranian ambassador and called on Iran's leadership to halt attacks, condemning what it described as arbitrary and disproportionate missile and drone strikes, including those targeting civilians.
