The statement emphasized Herzog's deep appreciation for Trump's contributions to Israel's security and described him as a central ally, particularly highlighting his strong stance against Iran.

The office noted that Herzog has previously expressed support for dialogue among the relevant authorities to explore the possibility of an agreed arrangement in the prime minister's legal case, including a potential plea deal.

It further stressed that Israel is a sovereign state governed by the rule of law. Any request related to the prime minister is presently under review by the Ministry of Justice for a legal opinion. Once that process is complete, the president will consider the matter in accordance with the law, the interests of the state, and his conscience, without external or internal pressure.
