Lebanese sources reported that Israeli paratroopers and commando units operated near the Syria border, with helicopters landing troops in the area. The forces were allegedly wearing Lebanese army uniforms as a disguise in case they were seen by local residents.
Hezbollah said that at 10:30 p.m. its fighters observed four Israeli military helicopters entering from the direction of Syria and landing troops near the villages of Yahfoufa, al-Khariba, and Maaraboun. According to the statement, the Israeli force advanced toward the eastern neighborhood of Nabi Sheet, where it encountered Hezbollah fighters and an exchange of light and medium weapons fire followed.
