Middle East Travel Disruptions: Dubai Airports update: More than 1,140 flights operated in 84 hours to clear passenger backlog; what travellers need to know - The Times of India

Dubai Airports has operated more than 1,140 flights over an 84 hour period between March 2 and March 5 to clear a backlog of passengers amid ongoing regional tensions in the Middle East. More than 500 outbound flights departed during this time, offering around 105,000 seats to over 80 countries, as authorities work to gradually restore normal connectivity.

The surge in operations comes after widespread airspace closures disrupted travel across parts of the region following the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Thousands of travellers were stranded or forced to change plans. Airport authorities said flight numbers are increasing daily as airlines add services and prioritise passengers affected by earlier cancellations.

Officials also confirmed that a minor debris-related incident was contained with no injuries reported, and denied claims of any incident at Dubai International Airport. Travellers are advised not to go to the airport without a confirmed booking, to check flight status directly with their airline, and to rely only on official channels for updates as limited services continue under strict safety measures.
