Arab Israeli journalist Lucy Aharish and her partner, actor Tzachi Halevi, have filed a lawsuit in the Tel Aviv District Court against Likud activist Rami Ben Yehuda, seeking 2.6 million New Israeli Shekels in damages. The couple alleges that Ben Yehuda led a racist and violent harassment campaign against them, including defamation, invasion of privacy, trespassing, and violations of their freedom of movement.
The lawsuit describes multiple demonstrations outside their Tel Aviv home, during which activists shouted threats and insults. It also alleges that Ben Yehuda and another activist entered their apartment building while their minor son was inside, leading to their temporary detention by police and a court order barring them from approaching or contacting Aharish for two weeks.
According to the complaint, the harassment included the circulation of an edited image portraying Aharish against an Iranian flag and labeling her a terrorist, as well as online attacks calling Halevi a traitor. Aharish says the campaign forced her to receive security protection at work and cancel a planned lecture abroad, and she has accused political allies of the prime minister of enabling the incitement.
