Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has condemned Iran's recent missile and drone strikes on Gulf countries, describing them as a dangerous miscalculation that risks destabilizing the region and disrupting the global economy. He said Qatar is facing a very difficult period following repeated attacks and praised the professionalism of the country's defence and security forces.
The Prime Minister expressed deep disappointment over the strikes, noting that Qatar had made clear it would not participate in any military action against its neighbors. He said the attacks were unexpected, particularly given Qatar's longstanding efforts to maintain constructive relations with Tehran.
Despite the sharp criticism, he urged all sides to pursue de-escalation, warning that further military action could push the region toward a wider conflict. He also called on the United States to help reduce tensions, emphasizing that diplomacy remains essential for regional stability.
