First flights bringing Israelis back home from Dubai land at Ben Gurion Airport

The first repatriation flights carrying Israelis stranded in Dubai for more than a week landed at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday. Two flights operated by a Dubai based carrier brought back 604 passengers, while an additional flight routed through Athens returned 121 more. The flights were delayed due to operational challenges linked to ongoing regional tensions.

The operation is part of a broader effort led by the Transportation Ministry to return thousands of Israelis stuck in the United Arab Emirates after airport closures caused by Iranian missile and drone attacks. Additional chartered flights are expected in the coming days as authorities work to complete the repatriation process.

Israeli airlines have also arranged alternative routes through Jordan and Egypt. Passengers were flown to Aqaba and Taba before crossing land borders back into Israel with logistical support that included transportation and assistance with border procedures. Since the partial reopening of Ben Gurion Airport, tens of thousands of Israelis have returned home by air and land, with more flights scheduled to arrive.
