Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran is no longer willing to negotiate with the United States, arguing that repeated attacks during diplomatic efforts have destroyed any remaining trust. He stated that previous talks were undermined by military actions, including strikes carried out during ongoing negotiations, and said renewed dialogue is no longer on Iran's agenda.
Araghchi also rejected accusations that Iran is deliberately disrupting regional oil production or maritime traffic. He claimed that commercial vessels are fearful of transiting the Strait of Hormuz due to heightened tensions, but insisted that Iran is not blocking passage.
Blaming the United States and Israel for escalating instability, Araghchi described the conflict as a war imposed on Iran. He said Tehran's actions are defensive and warned that any further attacks by the United States would prompt retaliation against its regional bases and assets, potentially expanding the conflict across the region.
