An officer and a suspect were shot Tuesday afternoon during an active shooter incident in the 6200 block of Park Heights Avenue near the Agudath Israel of Baltimore synagogue. The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m., prompting a large police response and road closures in the surrounding area.

The injured officer was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment, and the suspect was also shot during the incident. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area as the investigation remains ongoing.

While some reports suggested that two officers may have been wounded, official statements have confirmed that one officer and the suspect were shot.
