Russia says consulate damaged in Iran strikes
Russia has reported that its consulate in the Iranian city of Isfahan was damaged following nearby shelling earlier this week. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the strike targeted the provincial governor's administration building close to the consulate.
Officials said windows were shattered in the consulate's offices and residential quarters, and several employees were thrown by the blast wave. No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
Moscow condemned the incident as a blatant violation of international conventions protecting diplomatic missions and called on all sides to respect the inviolability of diplomatic sites. President Vladimir Putin discussed the broader conflict with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and urged a halt to hostilities.
