Israeli strikes target Iranian security units in Tehran

The Israel Defense Forces released aerial footage showing strikes on members of the Basij unit in Tehran after identifying their deployment at multiple roadblocks across the city. The action followed what Israel described as significant degradation of Iranian internal security assets.

According to the military, the Israeli Air Force carried out the strikes based on intelligence indicating that Basij forces had set up checkpoints in several locations. The Basij operates as part of Iran’s security apparatus and has been accused by Israel of involvement in terrorist activities.

Israeli officials said the targeted forces played a central role in suppressing recent domestic protests, using severe violence, mass arrests, and force against civilian demonstrators.
