A political debate has intensified in India over the government’s stance on the escalating crisis in West Asia. All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the central government’s response to the attacks on Iran, asking why India did not clearly condemn the strikes and take a firmer position on international law and national sovereignty.
Owaisi referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and argued that India should have adopted a stronger diplomatic posture. He also raised concerns about engagement with leaders such as Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu during the unfolding conflict.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States, with military exchanges raising global concerns about maritime security, energy supplies and economic stability. Given its strategic ties and energy interests in the region, India is closely monitoring developments as the crisis continues to evolve.
