President Donald Trump dismissed a report claiming tensions between Washington and Jerusalem over the continuation of the war against Iran, calling it 'third-grade fake news.' In a phone interview with Israel's Channel 14, Trump said the relationship between the United States and Israel 'has never been better' and described the campaign against Iran as progressing at a 'wonderful pace.'
Trump strongly praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he has played a historic role in the existence of the State of Israel. He added, 'You wouldn't even have Israel right now if Bibi weren't the prime minister,' and voiced full support for him.
When asked whether the United States would take an active and physical role in the fighting against Iran and its regional proxies, Trump declined to provide a clear answer, saying he could not address that question at this stage.
