Israel's military intelligence chief has reportedly told political leaders that Iran's military apparatus is 'in distress' and increasingly aware of the damage inflicted by a joint Israeli and United States bombing campaign. According to the assessment, Iran's command structure has been heavily exposed and significantly weakened since the operation began on February 28.
The campaign's opening strikes killed Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei along with dozens of senior officials. The intelligence chief said Iran is now limited in its ability to launch missiles, firing only what it is capable of rather than conserving stockpiles. Underground missile facilities are said to be targeted daily to prevent further launches.
He also reportedly said members of Iran's security forces are reluctant to leave sheltered positions due to fear of Israeli and United States airpower, with some lacking adequate training or morale. Despite describing the operation as a military success, political leaders were said to be divided over whether the gains could ultimately lead to regime change.
