Iran launched overnight missile strikes across the Gulf, including an attack on Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, a facility that houses British, United States and Australian troops.
A missile struck near the base late Tuesday, causing minor damage to an accommodation block and a medical facility after igniting a small fire on a road leading into the compound.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said more than 100 Australian personnel stationed at the base were safe and confirmed that all staff were accounted for. The base, operated by the United Arab Emirates, serves as Australia’s military headquarters in the Middle East.
