Kuwait has arrested 10 Kuwaiti nationals allegedly linked to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in what authorities described as a foiled plot to target vital facilities in the country. The Ministry of Interior said the suspects had trained in camps abroad connected to Hezbollah and coordinated with external operatives to collect sensitive location data. Officials added that the detainees provided detailed confessions after their arrests.
The arrests follow an earlier operation this week in which 14 Kuwaiti nationals and two Lebanese citizens were detained over similar allegations of working to undermine national stability. Authorities said the broader network was part of efforts to destabilize the Gulf state.
Hezbollah denied the accusations, stating that it has no cells or operatives in Kuwait. Kuwait has previously detained individuals accused of links to the group, including a 2021 case involving suspects allegedly recruiting young people for activities in Syria and Yemen. The latest developments come amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
