A 29-year-old resident of an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem was arrested after allegedly disguising himself as a haredi man to carry out thefts and burglaries in the city center. Police began investigating early Wednesday following a report of stolen computer equipment from a store in the Ma'alot Dafna neighborhood.
Later that day, citizens reported a suspicious individual dressed in haredi clothing, leading to his arrest. During questioning, the suspect admitted arriving in a vehicle with counterfeit license plates believed to be stolen. A search of the vehicle and his belongings uncovered burglary tools, electric bicycles, and additional items suspected to be stolen.
The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ordered that the suspect remain in custody as the investigation continues.
