The United States and Israel carried out new strikes on Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment facility on Saturday, according to Iranian state linked media and officials. Authorities said there were no immediate signs of radioactive leakage and that residents in the surrounding area were not in danger.
Iran’s atomic energy organisation confirmed the attack, describing it as part of continued assaults on the country’s infrastructure. The strike marks another escalation in weeks of sustained military exchanges between Iran and the United States Israel alliance, with Natanz remaining a key target due to its central role in Iran’s nuclear programme.
Iranian leaders reiterated that their nuclear activities are intended for civilian purposes, including energy and medical use, and vowed to rebuild any damaged facilities. Meanwhile, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency warned that attacks on nuclear sites carry the risk of radiological release and urged restraint amid rising regional tensions.
