A missile strike in a Dimona neighborhood caused widespread destruction, leaving homes severely damaged and hundreds of residents evacuated. Avi Lavan described taking shelter with his family in their reinforced room when they heard a massive explosion that shook their house. Moments later, they discovered their home had been completely destroyed by the blast.

Another resident, Tiran Benyoun, said he dropped to the ground after spotting missiles in the sky and later assisted others until rescue teams arrived. The force of the explosion was felt across the area, prompting immediate emergency response efforts.

City Council member Tzvi Yehuda Elyasaf said approximately 470 people were evacuated, though most residents had been in shelters at the time of impact, preventing serious casualties. While acknowledging the significant damage, he emphasized the community’s resilience and determination to rebuild, noting that injuries were mostly minor and that the city remains united and hopeful for the future.
