Matricelf is set to launch its first-in-human clinical trial for a spinal cord therapy in collaboration with Sheba Medical Center. The initiative aims to evaluate a treatment that uses patients' own stem cells to help repair spinal cord injuries.
Prof. Dror Haratz, head of Sheba's Research Authority and chair of its Helsinki Committee, said the effort reflects the hospital's broader mission to rehabilitate wounded soldiers while pushing the boundaries of medical innovation. He noted that the therapy could have a significant impact on trauma patients, including Israeli soldiers injured in combat.
