An officer in the Israel Defense Forces described a recent operation in the al-Khiam area of southern Lebanon, where troops acted on prior intelligence about militant activity. The area had already seen the elimination of six operatives days earlier, prompting further searches for weapons and infrastructure.
During the mission, soldiers operated under heavy covering fire and uncovered a significant weapons cache inside a house allegedly taken over by Hezbollah operatives. The stockpile included seven Kornet anti-tank missiles with launchers positioned toward Israel, along with uniforms, boots, and small arms.
According to the officer, the site appeared to be a fully prepared combat depot intended for future fighting. The forces collected the weapons and equipment and consolidated them ahead of demolishing the location.
