United Kingdom confirms protective steps as Russia backs Iran

The United Kingdom Defense Secretary John Healey has confirmed that Russia is training the Iranian military in drone operations and electronic warfare, highlighting Moscow's deepening involvement in the ongoing conflict. He said Russia's actions are intended to distract from its activities elsewhere but stressed that Britain would not be diverted.

Healey said the United Kingdom has taken protective measures to safeguard British citizens, military bases, and allied partners across the Middle East. British pilots have flown more than 1,000 hours on missions aimed at defending national interests and supporting regional allies.

Reports also indicate that Russia has been supplying Iran with intelligence on the locations of United States military assets, including warships and aircraft, since the start of the war. The development signals a significant escalation, suggesting that Moscow is playing a more direct role in the conflict than previously expected.
