12 US troops wounded, 2 seriously, in Iranian attack on Saudi base -- report

At least 12 United States soldiers were wounded, including two seriously, in an Iranian missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, according to reports citing unnamed officials. The troops were inside a building when it was struck, and several aerial refueling aircraft were also damaged.

The assault is part of Iran’s ongoing retaliation against Gulf nations it accuses of supporting United States strikes that began in late February in coordination with Israel. Saudi defenses have previously intercepted missiles launched near the base.

Since the conflict began, 13 United States service members have been killed and more than 300 wounded across the region, with most injuries described as minor. An unnamed official said 10 troops remain seriously wounded. Iran has not released updated casualty figures, though a monitoring group has reported significant losses among Iranian forces that cannot be independently verified due to reporting restrictions.
