Russia has evacuated its workers from the Bushehr nuclear facility amid escalating strikes that Moscow attributes to Israel. The move comes as tensions rise over attacks that Russian officials say threaten nuclear safety and regional stability.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the strikes undermine key international agreements, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and weaken global systems designed to oversee nuclear safety and compliance. She argued that such actions erode trust in international oversight mechanisms.
Zakharova accused the countries involved of pursuing narrow geopolitical interests and condemned what she described as a destructive course of action. Moscow called for an immediate halt to the attacks, warning that continued escalation could have serious international consequences.
