Gulf states are urging President Donald Trump to continue military strikes against Iran until the Islamic regime is no longer a threat to the region, according to a report by The Associated Press. Officials from the region believe that nearly a month of bombing Iranian military assets has not sufficiently weakened Tehran.
According to Gulf and Israeli officials cited in the report, leaders in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain see the current situation as a rare opportunity to decisively undermine Iran’s ruling system. While some Gulf governments were initially hesitant due to limited notice before the joint Israeli and American strikes began, they are now pressing for sustained military action.
The officials argue that attacks should continue until the Islamic Republic is either weakened enough to enable regime change or no longer poses a regional threat. The developments come amid ongoing military operations and rising tensions across the Middle East.
