World Zionist Organization Chairman Yaakov Hagoel called on Jews around the world to immigrate to Israel amid rising antisemitism. Speaking on Holocaust Remembrance Day, he said that hatred toward Jews has never disappeared and noted that more than twenty people were killed in antisemitic incidents over the past year. He emphasized that Israel remains the homeland of the entire Jewish people and a place of strength and security.
Hagoel acknowledged the growing difficulty of openly expressing Jewish identity in many countries, pointing to increasing pressure on Jewish communities abroad. At the same time, he stressed Israel’s resilience and determination, saying the country stands strong and proud despite ongoing war.
He also described a renewed sense of Jewish identity and connection to Israel following the October 7 massacre. According to him, about sixty thousand new immigrants have arrived since then, and he expects many more to follow after the war, predicting that the majority of the world’s Jewish population will eventually live in Israel.
