Authorities at Los Angeles International Airport arrested a 44-year-old Iranian national and lawful permanent resident of the United States on charges of attempting to traffic weapons to Sudan on behalf of Iran's Islamic regime.

According to federal prosecutors, the suspect allegedly tried to smuggle drones, bombs, bomb fuses, and millions of rounds of ammunition manufactured in Iran. Officials said the weapons were intended for sale in Sudan. Images released by law enforcement showed agents taking the suspect into custody, along with photographs of seized drone equipment and cash.

She has been charged under federal sanctions laws and faces a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors emphasized that she is presumed innocent until proven guilty and is scheduled to make her initial court appearance in a federal district court in Los Angeles.
