Israel will compete in the 2026 Cheerleading World Championships for the first time in its history, the Israeli Cheer Union announced. The event will take place from April 22 to April 24 in Orlando, United States, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at Disney, and is organized by the International Cheer Union, the sport’s global governing body.
The national organization, founded three years ago, has grown rapidly and now includes about 15 clubs and hundreds of athletes. It has gained official recognition from both the International Cheer Union and the European Cheer Union. Leaders say the team’s debut on the العالمي stage represents resilience and determination during a challenging period for Israeli society.
Israel will send three teams to the competition: a group of 18 athletes aged 12 to 14 competing in the POM dance category, along with two doubles pairs teams. Qualification rounds begin on April 22, followed by semi-finals and some finals on April 23, with the final events and medal ceremony scheduled for April 24.
Cheerleading is among the fastest-growing sports worldwide and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee, with efforts underway to include it in future Olympic Games. Officials say participation offers young athletes opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and potential advancement to elite international competition.
