North Korea conducted a coordinated live fire drill involving tactical ballistic missiles, artillery rockets, and precision cruise missiles, overseen by leader Kim Jong Un, according to state media. The exercise tested a new special mission warhead for tactical ballistic missiles and evaluated the performance of long range multiple launch rocket systems.
The drills also assessed artificial intelligence guided cruise missiles designed for frontline deployment. Kim said the tests confirmed improvements to both the munitions and automated launch systems, enhancing their effectiveness in modern warfare.
He highlighted the readiness of the precision cruise missiles, which are equipped with advanced navigation systems and can strike targets up to 100 kilometers away. The tests come as North Korea continues expanding its nuclear and conventional weapons programs and has pledged to deploy upgraded systems near its border with South Korea.
