Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will miss the club’s upcoming league match against Brighton and Hove Albion due to a muscle injury, manager Arne Slot confirmed. The 33-year-old was substituted during Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Galatasaray after scoring in the second leg of their European last-16 tie.
Slot said the timing of the international break may aid Salah’s recovery, though he will not be available for Egypt’s friendly against Spain on March 31. Salah had been set to travel for the match, which was relocated to Barcelona because of conflict in the Middle East.
Liverpool, currently two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, are seeking their first league win in three matches. Slot noted the quick turnaround and demanding schedule ahead of facing a high-intensity Brighton side.
