Israel's defense minister has designated five media outlets operated by Hamas as terrorist organizations, citing intelligence that they functioned as tools for incitement rather than legitimate journalism.
According to findings from Israel's internal security agency, the platforms — Quds Plus, Maydan Alquds, Alquds Albawsala, Maraj, and Al Asima News — were directly managed by Hamas operatives and received guidance from leadership in the Gaza Strip, Turkey, and other locations.
Authorities said the outlets ran extensive digital networks across websites and social media platforms to inflame tensions among Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, encouraging unrest and nationalist attacks. The designation makes any activity connected to these organizations illegal and enables security forces to take legal action against those involved.
