Fresh assessments have raised alarm in Washington after reports claimed that Iran's recent military operation, described as Operation True Promise, struck more than 100 American-linked bases across the Middle East. A senior national security analyst cited by Russian state media indicated that the operation demonstrated a wide operational reach, targeting installations across multiple countries in the Gulf region.
Separate reporting by a major American television network suggested the strikes may have caused billions of dollars in damage. Critical infrastructure including runways, radar systems, aircraft, command centres, and communication facilities were reportedly affected. The scale of the alleged destruction has prompted questions about how much damage was sustained and how much information has been publicly disclosed, as concerns grow over the potential for further escalation.
