A special recruitment day is being held for the haredi public for military units that combine combat service with strict religious observance. The initiative comes amid ongoing debate over the draft law and aims to expand enlistment in frameworks tailored to religious lifestyles.
One of the main options is the Hashmonaim Brigade, the first haredi brigade in the Israel military, which has operated in the Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria sectors. The brigade recently completed raids in western Lebanon and runs its own training base offering commander courses, medic training, and technological specializations such as drone operation. It has also completed its first officer training cycle designed specifically for haredi soldiers.
Recruitment is also continuing for the veteran Netzach Yehuda Battalion, whose fighters undergo about eight months of training and receive advanced infantry certification. Another available track is the Hetz Company under the Paratroopers Brigade, whose troops have operated in multiple sectors simultaneously and held key positions in Gaza during recent fighting.
