Two people have been arrested in connection with an arson attack near a memorial wall in Golders Green, north west London. The wall displays photos of protesters killed during a crackdown by the Iranian government and also commemorates victims of the 2023 attack on the Nova music festival in Israel, along with messages of solidarity with the Jewish community.
The memorial itself was not damaged, but a nearby cabinet was set on fire. Police are continuing their investigation and are searching an address in Romford as part of ongoing inquiries.
Commander Helen Flanagan said officers are committed to protecting vulnerable communities across the capital. Counter-terrorism officers are working with the Metropolitan Police on several investigations in north west London, following a series of incidents in the area, and are providing protective security advice and support to local organisations and businesses.
