The Department of Defense has launched a public online archive of previously restricted files concerning Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, following a direct order from President Donald Trump. The directive instructed federal agencies to identify and release all documentation related to unidentified flying objects and possible extraterrestrial life, marking a significant step toward greater government transparency.
The digital repository brings together decades of military investigations, including videos, photographs, and eyewitness accounts spanning more than seventy years. Among the materials are Cold War-era investigative reports, records from lunar missions describing unexplained flashes and bright particles, and recent reports from United States troops in Iraq and Syria who observed anomalous aerial objects. Many of the cases remain officially unresolved.
The disclosure effort gained renewed attention after comments from former President Barack Obama acknowledging unexplained aerial sightings while denying evidence of alien contact. President Trump said the newly released documents would allow the public to review the evidence and decide for themselves 'what the hell is going on,' with additional releases expected in the coming weeks.
