Israel advanced to the Eurovision Grand Final after Noam Bettan performed his song 'Michelle' in the first semi-final held in Vienna. Bettan, who performed tenth in the lineup, delivered the song in three languages and earned enough support to secure a place in Saturday night's final.
During the performance, some audience members attempted to disrupt the act with anti-Israel chants and by waving Palestinian flags, while others responded with Israeli flags. Security personnel removed a protester from the venue. Despite the interruptions, Bettan completed his performance and thanked the audience in both Hebrew and English.
After leaving the stage, Bettan said he felt incredible and was proud to sing for Israel. Israel will compete in the Grand Final alongside several other qualifying countries, with the second semi-final scheduled for Thursday night.
