PM tells court he's at 'top of health scale,' says now-treated cancer diagnosed late 2025

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Tel Aviv District Court that he is in excellent health, rejecting past claims that he suffered from serious illnesses. Testifying in a libel suit he filed against two journalists and a political activist, he said allegations that he had pancreatic cancer were false and malicious.

Netanyahu revealed that after undergoing surgery for an enlarged prostate in December 2024, he was diagnosed toward the end of 2025 with an eight millimeter prostate tumor. He said he received five radiation treatments in January and February 2026, which he stated fully eradicated the cancer. He added that a pacemaker implanted in 2023 has never been activated and that his overall condition ranks in the top tenth percentile of health indicators.

The court appearance followed an order for Netanyahu to submit updated medical records under seal. The case centers on claims made in 2024 that he was terminally ill and unfit for office, allegations he denies. His health has faced heightened public scrutiny in recent years amid several medical procedures and limited disclosure of official health reports.
