Police in London are searching for a man who allegedly threatened to 'cut off the heads' of Jews during a confrontation outside a mosque on Whitechapel Road in the borough of Tower Hamlets. The incident, captured on video and shared online, shows the suspect making antisemitic threats and insults directed at Jews and the State of Israel.
The Metropolitan Police said officers responded on Friday and have launched an urgent investigation to identify and locate the man. Authorities emphasized that hate crimes have no place in the community and are treating the incident with the utmost seriousness.
The Jewish community volunteer group Shomrim said it is aware of the video and is increasing patrols while working closely with police in Hackney and Tower Hamlets. The incident comes amid heightened concerns following recent arson attacks at Jewish sites and a double stabbing in Golders Green, prompting the deployment of 100 officers to protect Jewish communities across London.
