Ten Israeli civilians were arrested after crossing the border from Israel into Syria, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Soldiers operating in the area located the individuals inside Syrian territory, returned them to Israel, and transferred them to the Israel Police for further handling.

The military condemned the incident, calling it a serious criminal offense that endangers both civilians and soldiers. Media reports said the group involved was affiliated with the Habashan Pioneers, an activist movement seeking to establish Jewish settlements inside Syria.

This was reportedly the fourth attempted border crossing by activists from the same group in a single day. In a separate recent incident, about 40 Israeli civilians crossed several hundred meters into Syria from the Golan Heights before being apprehended and returned to Israel by security forces.
