Spotify has declined a request from the International Legal Forum to remove the rap song Raw Thoughts Seven by Chris Webby, saying it does not meet the threshold for removal under the platform’s rules on hate content. The organization had argued that the track spreads antisemitic conspiracy theories and violates guidelines prohibiting hate speech and incitement to violence.
The song describes a secretive group controlling global events and ultimately identifies Jewish people and Israel as the source of the world’s problems. It references longstanding antisemitic tropes, including claims of global control, ritual abuse, and dehumanization, and incorporates elements of Jewish music while advancing those themes. The track has received millions of plays across major streaming platforms since its release in March.
The International Legal Forum said the lyrics promote a recognizable antisemitic narrative framework and include language that appears to call for violence. The group expressed disappointment with Spotify’s decision, warning that failure to enforce hate speech policies contributes to rising real-world harm and undermines protections for targeted communities.
