Tulsi Gabbard has resigned from her position as Director of National Intelligence under President Donald Trump, according to a report by Fox News Digital. She informed the president of her decision during a meeting in the Oval Office, with her resignation set to take effect on June 30.
In her resignation letter, Gabbard expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence over the past year and a half. She thanked the president for the trust placed in her during her tenure.
The report said Gabbard cited her husband's recent diagnosis with a rare form of bone cancer as the reason for her decision to step down. The development marks a significant change in the leadership of the nation's intelligence community.
